Moral of the story, as it seems to be in the modern world? No good deed goes unpunished. It's why I can see more people rallying behind the Bengals after all of this more than the Bills. They did the right thing and got hosed.

of course the NFL did helpfully designate the Bengals as division champs though, and confirmed Bengals get a first place schedule next year and a lower draft pick and that will be the case even if their playoff game is in Baltimore. Even for the NFL, that's evil.
