I think we are looking at this leadership thing with McDavid a little too deep. Let’s be honest, McDavid has no desire to be a leader or the face. He is bad with the media, says some dumb things when questioned on hockey issues, and is not the guy that other players want to rally around. I think he would be very happy being a support player who gets accolades and acknowledgment for his own individual achievements but is never grilled about the team or its success.
