I think you are over-estimating his trade value. The one player on that list that was actually traded returned Lindberg, Brannstrom, and a second, which might actually be worse than Frost and a 1st.

Mark Stone was not traded with a full year left on his contract. He was traded near the deadline and had a contract that was going to expire in a few months. Had Ottawa traded him before the season began, they likely would have done better. Plus, if the overall argument is that Treliving is a great GM, we shouldn't hold him an example that turned out to be a bad trade by a below average GM.
