But the counterpoint would be that McCarthy is a failure. As minority leader he 'led' the GOP to the worst midterm performance from an opposing party in recent memory. It was supposed to be a red wave taking over the country. Instead they barely won the house. And he wants to be Speaker now? Maybe the 20 never-McCarthy crazies have a point. They have the balance of power and they think all members would rally around Jordan. McCarthy would bring more failure.
