I think we all know he asked for full autonomy with his last contract (widely known) and everyone knows the story about how the Ben Bishop trade fell through because he couldn't get a hold of Ken King to sign off. Full autonomy doesn't mean that ownership is hands off and that he's allowed to rebuild or retool if he wants to and I'm not convinced that ownership didn't have a hand in bringing Sutter back.
