I think he gets offered a short 3 year extension, but that doesn't mean he accepts it. It kind of makes sense for the organization to keep him at the helm for this build of the team. He has earned that much IMO, given what he managed to do after the crazy situation of losing 2 star players within a week of eachother. But if this build of the team doesn't yield decent playoff results the next couple of seasons, someone else will get a chance to rebuild.
