I think there's an argument to be made that letting the GOP eat itself alive, and show what kind of clowns they are, will actually do a lot of good for the country.
The Dems have absolutely no obligation to do anything about this.
If McCarthy is chosen as speaker, it'll just be 2 years of obstructionist BS from the house, and not much will get done.
At least this way, nothing gets done, but the American people may start to realize electing a bunch of GOP clowns isn't such a good idea.
Besides, if you were a Democrat in there, is there really a single GOP member that you would trust to hold up their end of any bargain?
They've shown themselves to be bad faith actors in just about every situation imaginable, so I don't see why the Dems would/should do much to help get them out of this situation.
