I dont know, I'm not a horror guy, but Evil Dead isnt really horror either, its campy lunacy.
This looks like he's trying to make a serious horror film, and theres no Bruce Campbell so 1/10 would not boomstick.
It might be good as a horror film, who knows, but its only 'Evil Dead' in loose association only. They're trying to associate themselves with some pre-established credibility to bring people in.
Its like...'The World Cup of Hockey (2016)' of Evil Dead.
