Agree on the first, though there were certainly a few guys that were bigger contributors than others in 89. As for his past though, it's undoubtedly true.
But there were other victims who didn't become asses. Kennedy, Huscroft, etc.

Whether or not he was correct (he wasn't) trashing a team that (a) got you unsuspended and (b) gave you a tryout is bad form.
I think Fleury was maybe the most talented Flame ever, right up with Nilsson. Above Gaudreau, Iggy, Newy, Mullen, Makarov as far as speed, puckhandling goalscoring and shiftiness goes. I think he could have been MVP a few times if he kept it together. But I'm just over him.
