Florida did it in a year they were the Presidents trophy winning team. The Flames traded an unprotected 1st after a season they needed a 10 game winning streak to squeak into a wildcard spot and were a bottom 5 team league wide the year before. I regard the Hamonic trade as the worst move Treliving has made though so it doesn’t discount the Chairot trade was an utter disaster for Florida.
Unless you have a top 5 prospect pool in the league, are a legit contender, and have cap room to keep the player I am opposed to premium assets for a rental. With how the Flames are against the cap I see really no scenario where I would part with this teams first. Realistically maybe for Lafreniere if he is actually on the block
