Not watching Willow, but I think I'm watching my worst show of 2022 at the moment - National Treasure: Edge of History. I'm a sucker for the original movies. Absolutely goofy of course but I love a good secret history story. This show though is awful. In the episode I watched last night, the group of YA CW type protagonists linked the ancient Mayan/Incan/Aztec treasure they're hunting to Elvis and then broke into Graceland to steal a vinyl record in which he had recorded a secret backwards message about the treasure. WTF?

And of course, every clue is immediately solved in seconds by these idiots. ("Sun King? But Louis XIV had no dealings in South America. Who else is a king? LeBron? No, Elvis, and he was signed to Sun records! And did you know that there's supposedly a secret room built under Graceland?") That kind of thing is easy to overlook when it's crazy Nicolas Cage doing it. Here, the group are annoying morons though. Ok, the lead character is a nice, likeable easy on the eyes person. The others include a sassy black chick constantly spouting quips about mansplaining, patriarchy, gender stereotypes etc, and a blithering idiot who when someone mentions a spy, says "Oh like Brian from Fast and the Furious!" It's material written for 13 year old tiktok users. The other two members of the group are just bland, blocks of wood.

I was only really watching in the hope that Cage might show up at some point (Keitel and Bartha have) but I almost died when I looked up how many episodes there are of this and realised I've got 7 more to go (family viewing, so I'm kind of committed now)
