There was a lot of turnover of impact players last season. I thought they’d take a bit of a step back. They Lost 5 of their top 7 scorers (Philp, Kirkland, Gawdin, Froese, and Mackey) as well as their top defensive pairing (Mackey and Valimaki).
Those first few games were rough. Not bad bounces but being heavily outplayed by Coachella (whose tied with Calgary at the top). Was worried we were in for a long season.
Last season they had 1 point per game player…this season they have close to 5 (Ben Jones on the cusp…who seems like the most “Darryl player” of the lot)
A long playoff run would do wonders for attendance next season.
