The “moral victory “ take-away perspective still doesn't sit well with me.
Yes, flames had a lot of shots directed towards the net
Heck, they even got shots from the high danger areas.
Yet, I still think markstrom had to be at an all star level last night, and skinner just needed to be in position. Markstrom had to fight and use his skill to make his saves. I don't remember many 10-bell saves or any desperation saves from skinner.
As long as skinner didn't give up a complete stinker, the flames weren't creating any real cross seam, or actual high value shots that were going to go in.
This is the same moral victory flames I feel I saw during the first road trip where they lost games folks felt they deserved to win.
This team doesn't deserve “moral victory” points. They haven't earned anything but 9th place, so why pat them on the back for a “good try”. It's funny to me.
