Yeah, other car companies are far too debt laden to take on any huge acquisitions (which is why their market caps are so low). I don't know is the numbers are still applicable, but 3-4 years ago when Tesla was worth about $20B, it was estimated that Tesla's value would have to be below $10B for other car makers to be able to buy it. If that's still true, it'd need to drop over 95% from where it is now to get there.
