After reading a lot of superhero stuff from the big 2 recently, I’ve been focusing on more serious stuff recently.

I read all 17 volumes of Astro City and loved it.

Finished the last 6 volumes of Fables, which I liked even better, and may be one of the best series I’ve ever read.

The Good Asian was awesome pulp noir about a 50s detective in Chinatown in SF.

And the Many Deaths of Laila Star, a neat limited series about life, death, resurrection and other weird stuff.

I’m nearly caught up on Lazarus. One of my favourite series ever. Addictive and amazing.

Not five minutes ago I finished the first two volumes of Department of Truth. It is so ####ed up and amazing. It’s like the X-Files with equal parts Stephen King and the Imagination Land episode of South Park. The art has some Bill Sienkewicz or Dave McKean Arkham Asylum vibes, if you’re into that sort of thing. Can’t wait to buy volumes 3 and 4.

I also have the Wicked + the Divine, Montress, Once & Future, East of West waiting for me. If they’re good, I’ll keep buying more volumes.
