We volunteer with a non-profit, that would take too much to get into to explain, but we deal with a lot of Scout/Cadet/Cub groups etc - located out where we have our trailer. We have to have a caretaker on site, so we have tenants out there. They texted early this morning to let us know the furnace crapped the bed this morning. My husband looks after all land/building related items, hence us getting the text & later on, phone calls.
Fortunately, our tenants had plans today, to spend time with 1 of their kids in YYC, so they are warm and cozy (thank maude it's warmed up!), and we were able to have them put a bunch of electric heaters in there for the time being, and they know what to do in terms of the taps, etc, to try and keep the pipes from freezing. Another person that's part of the non-profit decided a couple of days ago to spend today through Monday out there, in their motorhome, so he's out there to assist with this next part.
Hubs was on the phone as soon as he could, trying to find a plumber that would at least let us know if they had the part in stock, we'd pick it up and install it, to get them heat. Guy sourced the part and will be out there this afternoon, to get everything fixed up and get our tenants heat. On Christmas Eve. Finding a guy willing to do that, is amazing. No one else answered their phones (I don't blame them).
Huge huge HUGE thanks to Kyle at Icon Plumbing & Heating in Didsbury for doing this, today of all days. It not only makes us happy, but I'm reasonably sure it's going to make the tenants happy, haha.
