Do not confuse an ardently religious moslem family for your regular North American quasi religious family. In a moslem family, the father's beliefs, are the family's beliefs. No ifs or buts. Thats the way it is. The father is the head of the family and its his way or the hiway.

Okay, but our justice system (vigilantly aside) doesn't work that way. If the family was held accountable or presumed guilty for the actions of one member we would be essentially throwing out the whole process. A system where you lock someone up without evidence is more in line with fascism than democracy. See Patriot Act in the US. I'm not a fan of these types of rules, I am more of freedom type of person myself.
