When you think of 2004 in 10 years, what will you think of first? A 2-month vacation in New Zealand and SE Asia; my first promotion at work; and of course the Flames playoff run!
Overall Assessment of 2004, personally: As mentioned, the 2-month trip was a major milestone for my wife and I. While away, we climbed a mountain, went sea-kaying, and bungy jumped. When we returned home, I got a promotion only to find I was not prepared for the increased responsibilities, workload, and stress. It made for a tumultuous year. I finished my basement this fall, which was very rewarding. Also, we fit in several camping trips and a trip to Ottawa. Overall, a good but challenging year.
What to look forward to in 2005? My wife and I are expecting our first child in February. I'm looking forward to becoming more family focussed and being a good dad. The longer I stay in my new position at work, the more I am settling in and able to enjoy it. Also the usual New Year's junk: staying healthy and taking control of my financial situation.
