I think it's fine to not want to watch most of the films on that list, everyone has different tastes. I dislike the charges of pretension in things like this though as if it's not perfectly valid that people who have explored further into cinema from all around the world (i.e. critics, directors, etc) would have different tastes from the average cinema goer. To use myself as an example, I like a drop of whiskey now and then. I'm perfectly fine with a $30 bottle of Jameson or Paddy's. No real interest in exploring the world of whiskey beyond that. So if a top 100 whiskies list was published and I said "Pfft, haven't even heard of most of these. How pretentious", my opinion wouldn't hold much weight, would it? (or for another example, if I only ate at chain restaurants, my opinion on a list of the top restaurants in Calgary would be useless.)
And that's not a knock on anybody at all. It's perfectly fine to like what you like and not branch out if you don't want to. It's the dismissive attitude that I find irritating as if other people can't possibly like the things we don't like.
Anyway, my list of favourite films...
1. Koyaanisqatsi
2. The Ice Storm
3. In the Name of the Father
4. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
5. Raiders of the Lost Ark
6. Trainspotting
7. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
8. JFK
9. The Revenant
10. Terminator 2
The last half are probably interchangable with any of the following on any given day - 2001, Children of Men, Jurassic Park, The Sixth Sense, The Matrix, Gangs of New York, The Elephant Man, The Shining, Unforgiven, Sherlock Jr., Y Tu Mama Tambien, A.I., and various Tarantinos.
