That depends on what you consider cold related deaths, because there is a consistent trend (not just Canada but almost the entire world) of deaths from all reasons increasing during the cold months and decreasing during the warm months. This is often attributed to colder temperatures increasing the spread of airborne infectious diseases (like the flu and now COVID) and exacerbating existing cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses.
