Some notables:

2019: Jody Wilson-Raybould, politician
2018: Humboldt Broncos hockey team
2017: Gord Downie, musician
2016: Gord Downie, musician
2014: Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent and Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, slain soldiers
2013: Rob Ford, politician
2012: Luka Rocco Magnotta, killer

The recent picks on the list seem to focus on tragedies or wrongs in our society. So, the Convoy is right up there with serial killers, a crack smoking mayor, the death of a beloved Canadian icon, the tragic death of a hockey team, a scandal for the PM, terrorist acts that involved the deaths of Canadian soldiers and the tragedy of residential schools.
So yeah, the Convoy was a tragedy for Canadian society. Great insight Yoho! You continue to marvel us with your wisdom. lol
It should go without saying that just because something is 'news making' doesn't mean it was positive for society.
