Blowing the doors off is also a bit rich. He's had good production (with some percentages breaking his way), but he isn't a consistent threat at 5 on 5, and he disappears without notice in some games.

I agree that the percentages are breaking his way but even so, his baseline has been pretty terrific. By and large, the Flames are stomping their opponents in terms of both shots and chances with Ruzicka on the ice — while it's not uncommon for the Flames to outshoot teams this year, it's less so for them to actually control chances to the extent they have during Ruzicka's shifts.
Also leads the team in 5v5 points/60 by a considerable margin. I think ultimately it's just about finding a combo that works — might not be with the best players on paper, but instead the hottest ones.
