Because Johnnys offence is built on puck control so they could play puck control hockey when they had the puck and use Lindholm and Tkachuk when they didn’t to bang and regain possession. Huberdeau can’t control the puck like Gaudreau so they don’t do as well when they have the puck and without Tkachuk they can’t forecheck as well either to regain it. Just lose/lose all around in comparison and while I feel Trev had no choice someone should have seen that Huberdeau plus Sutter is not a good fit. Not if you have any hope of him being a 100 point scorer.
