To say luck doesn't play a part in short one-game-elimination tournament is nonsensical.
Luck plays a huge part. Look no further than reffing calls. A ref awarding a PK or FK late in a match where another ref wouldn't comes down to luck.
Canada's goal vs Morocco was lucky.
Messi and Neymar were both lucky not to be suspended.
