What would be the possible outcomes if the Flames went into this year with Huberdeau not signed?

1) He would be playing up to the level that he was last year and the Flames would be on top of the bubble in the standings. They would be panicking to sign him .. they would have to pay him in the Marner/Stone/Barkov/Gaudreau/Tkachuk range (which they already have done)

2) What we see is his best and he is entering his declining years. His market as a UFA would be at best the Kadri 7M x7 range and the Flames would have an extra 3.5M and not have him locked in at 10.5 for his 37 year old season. Or he would be another team's big gamble.

At least with Kadri there is a history of him being a playoff warrior.
