Crimes of the Future was probably the most half-baked Cronenberg in awhile.

He's never been a big "narrative" guy, but the lack of general cohesion really added to the feeling that the movie was just moving from set piece to set piece.

6.5/10 if I'm being honest, but still watchable for the weirdness and some actual use of practical effects, which is always appreciated.

I thought it at least came together in the end.

He spends the entire movie in an uncomfortable state not being able to eat and when he eats the plastic bar his internal growths were finally satisfied. I assume he would take over the whole underground synthetic food thing.
