Monahan's contributions push the Habs further and further away from Bedard. So acquiring him could turn out to be a big L for them.
Also... the Flames have Toffoli AND Kadri... that's TWO players... vs Monahan who is just ONE player. Geddit? It's not that hard. That $2.125M difference is irrelevant here since Toffoli's cap hit has nothing to do with Monahan's. Toffoli has been well worth his cap hit and the draft pick traded to acquire him.
