It also doesn't take into consideration strategic voting by riding or poor/popular candidates.
I know lots of people here that vote NDP federally. They aren't NDP supporters, really they'd be Liberal but either don't like Trudeau or the local MP, don't support the CPC so that leave the NDP.
Throw in the polarization of politics and the centre-left vote splits, where the right vote is mostly CPC.
I'm sure there's lots of ridings like those by me that Liberal win but would win by a landslide with a different candidate and/or leader.
