If things go south next season (doubtful but if they do) they can always flip him at the deadline. His salary is affordable and if he continues to score at a 20 goal pace he should fetch a 2nd round pick which mitigates some of the losses. Also the Flames will be a 100 point season in 2023 (this is simply how the team rolls ever 2nd year) so if the pick ends up top 10 this season it's the Flames and the Habs would get the 2023 pick which will be in the 20's.
