I've gone backwards. 10 years ago, you'd go on Amazon, get it cheaper AND delivered. It was win-win. Now that everyone got used to the convenience, they are making you pay for it.

I've been doing a major renovation on my rental over the last few months. And buying all the random tools, sprayer tips, sanding pads....etc I need as I go in almost every single case the brick and mortar store has been cheaper. Even when it comes to the Brick and Mortar websites, I've gone into the store to find the same item cheaper. The flooring I wanted to order was 5.98/sq ft online, went to the store to see it before I ordered it, and they had an in-store special for 3.48/sq ft.

When it comes to delivery apps, I've 100% boycotted them. They are absolutely predatory to restaurants, and in most cases Skip and Door Dash are making more on the order than the actual restaurant after they take their cut. Albeit I live in Cochrane, nothing is more than a 10 minute drive to pick it up, the restaurants are definitely appreciative of the extra margin they get.

As far as the grocery delivery.... CBC Marketplace did a segment on it. Sure it's convenient, but you pay out the ass for it. ESPECIALLY if you use instacart.

It's weird, 10 years ago I was that guy that had a couple Amazon boxes delivered to work every week and the outlier. Now it's the exact reverse. I am the only person not getting one of the 30 or so Amazon packages delivered here every day, as I am finding almost everything now is cheaper in-store.
