Still, these guys are professionals and there actually has been a lot of lazy play this year, especially from surprising players like Lucic who, from what I remember in years past, always gave it 100%. This year? Doesn’t give a F. Well that’s just not acceptable. They really should sit him one or two nights and give him a last chance to get his feet moving. Nobody is claiming him on waivers and let’s be honest it’s not like he is doing his role of protecting people, hard forecheck or fighting so no thanks Milan we can find younger cheaper people to float around listlessly. Start to care or GTFO.

I really like that Sutter called out the team for poor effort. That to me is an experienced coach, knowing when to pull the trigger on that type of commentary and I bet you see a super invigorated team tomorrow for sure, they are going to give the Leafs trouble. Also, this pretty much guarantees that Phillips will play tomorrow because you can’t reward that piss poor laziness without removing a body or two and having this stud kid (AHL stud) sit again.
