They were known quantities and successful players with pedigree. If they don’t perform, that’s on the players, not on the GM for making a “bad trade”. Not unless Tre has a crystal ball and can see the future. In which case I do blame him. But I’m pretty sure he doesn’t.

Well there is a question of style. If your coach is Sutter and you’ve bought in to playing that style why do you trade for 2 players who are known for playing wide open hockey where you give up chances to get them? It’s a pure stylistic clash and I question Trev thinking the two players were a good fit for a Sutter team. Sure they’re still good players and can make good plays but they’ll never reproduce their old numbers trying to play safe.
