This should probably go in the trade rumors thread after the season but I wonder if the Flames could pull off a similar move as Florida did with Tkachuk next year should they? Lindholm and Hanifin will be entering the last year of their 6 year sweetheart contracts and will be 29 and 27 when they expire. Both are likely in line for deals in the 8x8 range and likely could cost the same as the combined 16.75M the Flames will pay Huberdeau and Weegar.
Would you rather the Flames sign those guys to 8x8 type deals or if they could would you trade them, a pick and a prospect for a 24-25 year old top end player?
Florida took 2 guys they either had to give 8 year deals to next summer or let walk for nothing, an average prospect and a future protected 1st for a 24 year old franchise winger.
