Like I’ve said a zillion times here before, Gio’s going to be good for a long time because of hockey IQ and work ethic. Sure, his mobility has seen better days, but his stick checking, instincts and ability to read the game is still at an elite level.
Too bad the Flames aren’t reaping the benefits of the incredible value he’s bringing. There’s no doubt in my mind Gio would’ve taken league minimum to stay here and help the team try to win.
