For those comparing Boeser to Toffoli, I get the comparison but the production is completely different.

Boeser is a 65 point player with a rough upside to hit 70-75 points.
Toffoli is a 50 point player with a rough upside to hit 60-65 points.

One's average production is the other's ceiling with optimal ice time/situation.

Boeser excels on the PP with his shooting ability and has proven this in his career. Toffoli has never been known for his PP ability.

Boeser is 25. Toffoli is 30.

On the surface, one might make comparisons between the two but there is one which is clearly the better player on average and a much higher ceiling with room to grow in the coming years given a fresh start might be all he needs. There's lots to like and it makes sense that the Flames are inquiring. I think there would be a few teams making calls. Whether or not they can make the transaction work is a separate story but I would think Boeser is a wanted commodity in the NHL.

In terms of contract at $6.65M, I think he's paid right in line with what a player of his caliber/age/contract status should earn. Slightly maybe $300-$500K more perhaps.
