Good goalies go through ups and downs and Markstrom has not been nearly as bad as some are leading to believe. On the other side, Vladar hasn't been nearly as amazing as some think either.
The bottom line for Sutter and the team is that you've got to go with the hot hand in Vladar when you need points to get back into the thick of the race. Sooner or later Markstrom will take his net back - that much I can nearly guarantee.

More recently Vladar has taken a step, but otherwise agreed.
in goals saved above average / 60 they rank ...
1. Sorokin +0.967
3. Vejmelka +0.895
28. Vladar +.078
33. Markstrom -.006
52. Demko -.786
54. Campbell -.892
Markstrom basically zero ... not helping nor hurting. Which isn't great for a core member of your team making $6M, but certainly not the boat anchor that some see him as.
