It is getting to the point where I would rather engage in other forms of entertainment than subject myself to the boring dump-and-chase, ring-around-the-boards, take-low-percentage-shots-from-the-outside garbage Sutter has this team playing. Sharknado 4 is more entertaining than most games played by the Flames this year. You want to see fanbase get loud, play some entertaining hockey. The #### on display right now is USDA cutter grader, which is not considered suitable for human consumption. The talent is there, the game plan isn't.
Ok first of all literally nobody is blaming the loss on the fans. I haven't seen that. All anyone is saying is that our fans suck, because they do, and they need to be louder / more supportive, because they do.

Second of all this isn't just some revelation this year or last night. It's not like this concept just emerged. This is a long-term trend of fans sucking in Calgary, not cheering enough, being quiet as ####, and absolutely over all this time there has been exciting hockey. This has already been stated multiple times, but people just are not reading it or purposefully ignoring it to try and always shift blame / never take accountability. Comixzone had the best counter to me, saying you go do 41 games and pay the money etc. etc. Family was season ticket holders for years and I was a season ticket holder for a couple years, and I did try to cheer but it is a weird environment in the Saddledome, to say the least. Especially the lower bowl. But when we watched those games on the road, literally every single building was better- even Florida who Flames fans like to look down their nose at. Maybe it's a cultural thing, I dunno.

However, having said all of the above, I agree with you that the brand of hockey is dull and slow, and I am sure that is PART OF the contribution to the fans sucking so much. Not the whole story, though.

Flames fans basically do nothing, wait for playoffs (if they make it), then get loud. Then they like to pat themselves on the back for being great fans. That's maybe the worst part, the insanely undeserved arrogance.

Lastly, again, the team spends to the cap, has some of the most reasonable prices in the NHL, and the Flames are witnessing continual declining attendance figures. They moved the Wranglers to Calgary and my sons U9 team gets more people out to his games than they do theirs. I actually think Calgary just might not be a very good hockey market to be honest. Maybe it's oversaturated or something, dunno.
