For me there's a few things. They seem kind of boring. It doesn't seem like we have star players anymore after losing Chucky and Gaudreau. There is not one player on this team who I get excited about the potential of a big play when they get the puck. The current team seems old and slow. Plus it feels like a team of mercenaries right now. Most of our top players weren't drafted or developed here. They all signed here for their twilight contracts because we paid them big bucks. No real tie to the franchise yet, except for us paying them in these twilight contracts after their peaks. We weren't first choices for guys like Huberdeau, Kadri and Weegar. We just offered them huge contracts they couldn't refuse after their preferred team moved on.
