I have no issue admitting that Bennett became a really good player. I am still of the belief that it wasn't going to happen on the Flames. He had opportunities and could never prove that he was better than Backlund or Monahan at the time, and it would have been unfair to demote one of them just to placate Bennett. They tried to see if they could play him up on the wing, but that didn't work. Then Bennett gave up and demanded a trade and really mailed it in after that. I don't get why some people can still be enamored with player who gave up on the team and didn't want to playout his contract. At least Tkachuk was willing to playout his contract and never gave up giving a damn.
