Canadian teams are on a lot of no trade lists. The reasons are many: too much scrutiny, the weather, covid restrictions, tax (perceived or real). So when you have top end players that WANT to be here, you have to really think about not re-signing them.
How impressive is that Yzerman was able to convince players to stay to play in Florida? Wow!
