I'm agreeing with an accountant far too much for my own health today. But Locke is absolutely on the money here.

AFC, i think Elon only freaked out because the narrative around the purchase changed. What matters more than ANYTHING to elon is his public image- to a specific subset of people, his followers. This is also why he became so interested in Trump, they are exploiting the exact same strategy and only care about the same thing.
Anyways, he changed his tune and tried to pull out of the deal only after the public narrative on the internet shifted to "haha elon is getting bent over". Then it became no more fun for him as he lost this aura of supervillain power. The guy thinks he's a bond villain but he's actually Dr. Evil
