How do you know the top players aren't motivated? I don't see an effort issue, and he's even said that in the last two days.
They're just not clicking.
Hockey is a flow game that requires a huge amount of chemistry. With all the changes they've found that chemistry elusive.

We’re all just fans here and giving our opinion and all. As for motivation well there have been some signs. Like the shameful performance at the end of the Seattle game. Or the mental lapses which leads to them being rolled for 10-20 minutes at a time. Yeah I agree that chemistry is an issue but he’s also forcing players to play styles they’re not accustomed to. Huberdeau I don’t think will ever be a good fit on a Sutter team. Between that and the goaltending things do look kinda bleak.
