Calgary takes losing streak into game against Boston
BOTTOM LINE: The Calgary Flames, on a six-game losing streak, play the Boston Bruins.
Boston has a 7-0-0 record at home and an 11-2-0 record overall. The Bruins have committed 57 total penalties (4.4 per game) to rank ninth in NHL play.
The Daily: Flames Issues Not Insurmountable, Eichel Elite Again in Vegas?
One thing the Flames didn’t have to deal with last season was injuries. Excluding the bionic Sean Monahan, they were extremely fortunate for most of the season, right up until the playoffs when Chris Tanev went down.
That’s not the case this season with Michael Stone joining Chris Tanev on the injured list and the Flames forced to rotate Connor Mackey and call-ups Nick DeSimone and Dennis Gilbert into the mix.
Will Charlie McAvoy Make Season Debut With Bruins Vs. Flames?
The Bruins defenseman skated with Hampus Lindholm during Wednesday’s practice at Warrior Ice Arena and led Boston’s post-practice stretch, which was reminiscent of the last practice Brad Marchand had when he took reps with Patrice Bergeron and Jake DeBrusk before leading the stretch upon his season debut.
Much like Marchand’s return, though, the Bruins are being a bit coy.
Preview: Bruins look to stay perfect at home against Flames
The Boston Bruins host the Calgary Flames tonight at the TD Garden and will look to keep their perfect home record alive.
The Bruins improved to 7-0-0 at home this season after their 3-1 win on Monday night over the St. Louis Blues. The B’s were also perfect that night on the power play and penalty kill, scoring two man-advantage goals and killing off three penalties.
This is the first of two meetings between the two clubs tonight. The Bruins will then head to Calgary on Feb. 28, 2023.
