While the Trump presidency was a catastrophe, I'd say there was a major silver lining to it in that it served as a wake up call to the American electorate in regards to the extent that the right wing in the country was flirting with fascism and authoritarianism. Same thing with January 6th, while a traumatic event and a very close call in regards to ending American democracy, it served as a wake up call to government buildings across the country not to get caught with their pants down again.
