That’s not even considering legitimate cover songs. Music has always been about taking influences and hopefully building on them, but often so much just sounds the same.

Comedy has a rule against joke stealing but it’s still done, and often people do the same joke with a twist to “make it their own”. It’s impossible to be 100% original these days when everything is accessible.
