I went into the first few games thinking Markstrom has been struggling, but he'll get going - hope he plays better tonight.
I have gone into the last few games expecting that we will get outgoaltended. Because we have gotten outgoaltended in maybe 8 or 9 of the 12 games. And we have won the goaltending battle, what - once?
Weak goaltending isn't just about the one goal that they should have stopped, goaltending affects the confidence of the team and the way they play. A team getting great goaltending will feel like they are never out of a game. A team with weak goaltending feels deflated after a bad goal, and feels like they have to play perfectly to win.
And the NHL is far too competitive for that.
