Either you hold the behavior of children against them forever or you don't, if he buys a winning lotto ticket do we then refuse to pay him the prize, do we refuse to pay anyone the prize who did something questionable as a kid?

If we are going to accept that we forgive kids for their stupidity that forgiveness is based on the idea that as kids we don't have the rational capacity to make complex ethical choices, we forgive children because we do not judge them as competent in the way an adult is, if this is the basis of our forgiveness then logically (assuming he is saying and doing the things now that show he has matured and realizes the error of his ways) then the forgiveness should be total
