I recognize that as an Oilers fan grasping basic concepts is exceptionally challenging, especially in the face of the insurmountable urge to respond to everything you read here with "RAH! RAH!! OILERSSSSSS!!!!"
But even you can surely see the problem here. The season started 23-days ago, and the Flames have played a total of 10 games. In that time they have had three two-day breaks and a three-day break. Since training camp began back in the third week of September the Flames have essentially not left Alberta. Hockey players thrive on routine, and this schedule has not been ideal for developing any, and it shows. It's quite different playing all your home games in October than it is in February.
