I think the adaptation period will be 25-30 games. Didn't help the flames to play so few games in October, but is what it is.
The system consists of a ton of switching both in coverage and in the o zone. That's why they're able to play fast and high pressure hockey. Clearly Huberdeau and Weegar and even Kadri aren't really used to it yet.
If I had my guess, Sutter blew up the lines because they were getting by with pp execution and natural skill. Probably pissed him off and he split them up as a weird lesson that their skills mean nothing to him if they're not playing as a unit.
This thing is going to take a while. Settle in.
