Really hurts losing him when we don't even have kylington available either. It's a real test of the depth on D at the moment and kind of shows why tree values the overloading of the position in previous years. I get why they did it but this is why I was against throwing Valimaki on waivers over Mackey.
I think Mackey would have cleared and Valimaki has done well in Arizona.
I get Mackey looked better in preseason but it wasn’t by much and Valimaki is younger with more pedigree and potential.
I’m happy Valimaki got out of this nightmare situation but disappointed we didn’t give him another shot.
Really it comes down to Tre signing Valimaki to a sizeable contract a couple years back.
